September 15, 1985: Jim DeShaies was traded by the New York Yankees with players to be named later to the Houston Astros for Joe Niekro. The New York Yankees sent Neder Horta (minors) (September 24, 1985) and Dody Rather (minors) (January 11, 1986) to the Houston Astros to complete the trade. [1]
