- To avert any possibility of political agitation, President Ayub Khan, amends the Political Parties Act, which provided that the politicians disqualified under the Elected Bodies Disqualification Ordinance (EBDO) would become liable to two years imprisonment if they indulged in any political activity. A list of fundamental rights which were incorporated in the constitution through the first Amendment. However, a rider clause excluded some subjects from the operation of the Act of Fundamental Rights.

- 2 March, Pakistan and China sign a border agreement and will be completed when the core issue of the Kashmir dispute is resolved.
