The 152 mm field gun-howitzer M84 NORA-A was developed in the beginning of the 1980s at that time Yugoslav Military-Technical Institute. It was introduced in Yugoslav People Army (JNA) arsenal in the 1984. It is based on the Soviet 152 mm towed gun-howitzer M1955 (D-20).
Serbia has designed a new mobile artillery piece called Nora B-52 which incorporates the M84 NORA-A mounted on a FAP-2632 military truck.
