- October 14, 1085 the battle of Elster[1] between the armies of the two rival brothers-in-law kings of the Germanies, Henry IV and Rudolf of Rheinfelden met at the Weisse-Elster River in the Great Saxon Revolt civil war of the Holy Roman Empire.
