[edit] Naming discussion

Hiya — there's a discussion currently occurring at Naming conventions (names and titles) about "simplifying titles, through which it is suggested that we remove "prince" from royals with substantive titles. The proposal was "passed" after 12 days, with the input of only five editors. I strongly encourage you to take part in the discussion such that a properly-agreed solution can be reached. [edit] June 2008

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because of concerns that the chosen username may not meet our username policy.
This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it - see below.

Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, related to a 'real-world' group or organization, confusing, or misleading.

If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username which is quick and easy. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far easier allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.
Last, the automated software systems that prevent vandalism may have been activated, which can cause new account creation to be blocked also. If you have not acted in a deliberately inappropriate manner, please let us know if this happens, and we will deactivate the block as soon as possible. You may also appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you. Alex Bakharev (talk) 05:08, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

The reason for your block is in the above box; a non-Latin script username makes it extremely difficult for users on the English Wikipedia to communicate with you. --Golbez (talk) 05:19, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Would it be possible for you to request a username change? That way we could unblock you; it'd be very nice if you'd change your name to something using Latin scripts, as the way it is now would make it very confusing for most other users to communicate with you. This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "How so? See DBD above. Per Wikipedia Contributors are welcome to use usernames that are not spelled using the Latin alphabet- please unblock immediately"

Decline reason: "Per http://translate.google.com/ the second part of your username seems to translate to "ass" which others may find offensive or provocative. --  Netsnipe  ►  07:54, 1 June 2008 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Request reason: "This user has requested to be unblocked so that he/she can file a request on Wikipedia:Changing username to change his/her name to Анти-Чарльз (talk · contribs)."

Decline reason: "Names containing personal attacks are not acceptable. — B (talk) 13:55, 3 June 2008 (UTC)"

[edit] Your user name

I can read the Cyrillic alphabet, but this objection to your username brought it to my attention — if жопа does mean something like "ass", and your new name begins Anti-, who is the Charles to whom they refer? DBD 20:55, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Чарльз - жопа, what is the English translation for your current name and what is the English translation for your requested new name? Under WP:U, we no longer block accounts soley for being non-English characters because of m:SUL. But it's still important that the name not be something offensive in the source language. --B (talk) 13:11, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Per Alex [1], your current name translates to "Charles is an arse" and your new requested name translates to "Anti-Charles". Personal attack names are not considered acceptable. Please pick something else. --B (talk) 13:55, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
