You've Got a Friend in Me

The 1995 song "You've Got a Friend in Me" was created by Randy Newman for the animated film Toy Story. The song received nominations for "Best Original Song" — both the 1995 Academy Award nomination and the 1996 Golden Globe nomination.
In 1999, Newman's song "When She Loved Me" for Toy Story 2 also received an a "Best Original Song" Academy Award nomination.
In 2005, Pixar re-released Toy Story in a 10th anniversary 2-DVD edition, which featured a new music video of "You've Got a Friend in Me", featuring Lyle Lovett and Randy Newman.
American rock band, The Fray, has also performed their own rendition of the song during the 2007 Disney Grad Night.
In 2005, a Disney musical revue called Disney's On the Record incorporated 70 years of Disney-Pixar music into a "concert-like" musical. "You've Got a Friend in Me" was performed as a duet by Kaitlyn Hopkins and Brian Sutherland.[citation needed]
