Ye Li (basketball)

This is a Chinese name; the family name is Ye.

Ye Li (Chinese: 叶莉; Pinyin: Yè Lì; born November 20, 1981) is a Chinese professional basketball player who had played for the Chinese national women's team.

Ye Li, 1.90 m (6 ft 3 in) tall, is currently married to 2.29 m (7 ft 6 in) Yao Ming, a center who currently plays for the NBA's Houston Rockets. Ye met Yao when she was seventeen.[1] Ye first rejected Yao, but finally accepted him after he gave her team pins from the 2000 Olympics.[2] Ye married Yao on August 6, 2007.[3] Ye settled on an exclusive guest list that did not include any Chinese basketball officials, teammates or coaches.[4]
