I agree that his nickname should be included, but tried to avoid confusing it with his formal name cwh 05:56, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I added a redirect from "James Y.C. Yen," which is a common mistake. cwh 16:11, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

I removed the category "Protestant Missions," as Yen was not a missionary, but added more material to amplify his relation with Christianity. I hope this is helpful. cwh 04:09, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

A word about his year of birth. Although for most of his life Yen thought that he had been born in 1893, he was informed in the late 1980s that new information had been found to the effect that he had in fact been born in 1890. The best informed scholar in China, Sun Enrong, concurs, citing documentary evidence. cwh (talk) 03:54, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
