Xerez Club Deportivo is a Spanish football team from Jerez, Andalusia. Founded on September 24, 1947, they currently play in Segunda División. Its reserve team is Xerez B, currently playing in Tercera División.
Its stadium, Estadio Municipal de Chapín, was inaugurated July 10, 1988, replacing the old Estadio Domecq. The first match in Chapín was a friendly match against Real Madrid.

The club was founded in 1947, but Xerez didn't play in Segunda División until the 1953-54 campaign, but its best campaign is maybe the 2001-02 one, the year after its most recent return to the Segunda, in which the club seemed poised to make the leap to La Liga all along the year but failed to make it because of poor results at the end of that season.
Since that disappointing season, in which the club almost made it to the Primera División, Xerez has been on the top positions for the last years except in the current season, which began very badly for the blanquiazules interests, whom reached the last position on the table despite being one of the favourites to promote at the beginning of the season.
Although this bad beginning, two wins in the last two matches and the signing of Emilio José Viqueira from Levante UD has been such an improvement for a club which was beginning to think about Segunda División B.
