WXIS (103.9 FM, "Jammin' 92.3 & 103.9") is a Rhythmic Top 40 music formatted radio station serving the Tri-Cities region of Johnson City/Kingsport/Bristol in Tennessee and Bristol in Virginia. The WEMB, Inc. outlet operates with an ERP of 6kW and is licensed to Erwin, Tennessee, while its 92.3MHz/6w translator is licensed to Johnson City, Tennessee.
[edit] History
WXIS was a Top 40 outlet known as "X-104" until it shifted to Rhythmic in 1999. Despite its semi-spotty signal coverage (which is why the 92.3 signal is included in the slogan), it has done well with its current format.[citation needed]
