I would like to contest the deletion of my entry for radio station WTYC in Rock Hill, South Carolina. As a new Wikipedia contributor, I don't yet fully understand the functionality of the system or all of the rules regarding Wikipedia entries, and this may have led to the deletion.
I think it is important to document the existance of radio station WTYC in the Rock Hill area of South Carolina as it played an important part in that community for many, many years. I actually worked at this radio station in the late 1970's and again in the mid to late 1980's.
How might I be able to alter the entry for WTYC to allow it to reamain on Wikipedia?
Thank you. - Eagle Scout T108 (talk) 13:50, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- deletion is being postponed till you can expand the article see articles on radio station in the List of radio stations in South Carolina to see what is wanted. WAVO in your town is a respectable though short entry for the station that succeeded it. Remember to find some documentation; there was probably coverage in local newspapers when they went out of business, and the local library should be able to help you find it. I thought that my first entry about WTYC held quite a bit of information about the station including a listing of some on-air talent and such. I'm more concerned with documenting the country radio station WTYC than I am in documenting the call letter and format change that occurred before Jonus sold the station off in 1989 or 1990. I will look at the reference that you've provided above and see if I can get a better idea of what you're looking for. Thanks, Eagle Scout T108 (talk) 21:05, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
