  • Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1969 (Douglas Adams and I share the same birthday in different years)
  • Graduated from Acadia University (Wolfville, Nova Scotia) in 1992 (B.A., psychology, minors in French and music)
  • Graduated from Goddard College (Plainfield, Vermont, U.S.A.) in 1996 (M.A., cultural studies)

  • RADARSAT basics workshop, in co-operation with the Civil Engineering Department of Ryerson Polytechnic University and the Faculty of Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo, 1999: trained on NASA-grade satellite imagery analysis software on Solaris platform
  • Maybe Logic Academy, Tale Of The Tribe: an Internet correspondence writing workshop with the late Dr. Robert Anton Wilson, August-November 2005: studied the works of James Joyce, Ezra Pound, Vannevar Bush, and Marshall MacLuhan as proto-hypertext
  • Other interests include heraldry, vexillology, singing, karaoke, Celtic folk music, playing on a pub trivia league, and working on French language skills
