WPJL ("We Proclaim Jesus Lord") is a AM station in Raleigh, North Carolina broadcasting Christian radio on 1240.

A. J. Fletcher, an attorney, signed on WRAL-AM, the second radio station in Raleigh, on March 29, 1939 at 1210 AM with 250 watts. The studios were on Salisbury Street. In 1941, WRAL moved to 1240. The station was an affiliate of the Mutual Broadcasting System.

WRAL-FM (then called WCOY) signed on in 1947. Capitol Broadcasting sold WRAL-AM in the 1950s but kept the FM station and WRAL-TV. As WRNC, the station played Top 40 and then country music.

The change to the current format happened in 1974[1].
