[edit] History
The tea began in the 1830s with founder Wong Lo Gat (王老吉). The recipe has been passed down through multiple generations to today's tea culture.[1]
His children started three branches in Guangzhou and later became popular in Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Shanghai, and Beijing. Eventually Wong went to Guangdong.
