[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Gavin Park (Buffyverse).jpg

Image:Gavin Park (Buffyverse).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] redirect to "minor ..."

I just reverted an edit by Paul730 that redirected this page to List of minor Angel characters. There were a few things wrong with this redirect: (1) No discussion; (2) In violation of the "injunction" against such merges that everyone is (I believe) observing on TV-episode & character-related articles for now; and (3) substantively, not all W&H employees were "minor", so this page serves a different purpose. I'm not opposed to eliminating it, per se, but it needs to be discussed. --Lquilter (talk) 22:36, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Being bold doesn't require a discussion. If you disagree then the discussion takes place. There is not "policy" on "injunctions", that was merely a non-official agreement among a group of editors who took part in that discussion. Anyone who wasn't aware of that discussion, or didn't follow it enough to know what was happening, probably did not agree. As for this page, if it's being redirected to the Angel characters list, then it wouldn't go as "Wolfram & Hart employees", but as the individual characters of this page. If the Angel list isn't that large, and it's obvious that this page is rather small (with no real world content to reason that it needs to be separate), I don't see a problem with redirecting this page to the Angel list. The characters listed on this page are clearly identified as non-major characters, given that they aren't listed in the "Major characters" section on the page.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:42, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
  • (1) I agree that the "injunction" isn't mandatory in any real sense, but given that the issue is in active discussion, it seems reasonable to hold off on this kind of thing. Being bold ordinarily is just fine but given the level of heat in the episodes/character merging discussions over the last couple of months, being modest & consensus-oriented is a rather better strategy. (2) If I understand your comment correctly, you appear to be confusing the "minor characters" / "major characters" issue with "employment @ Wolfram & Hart". The characters on this page are not "clearly identified as non-major characters", since there is in fact a "major characters" section on it -- that includes all of the major characters, including "Angel", the titular character. W&H employed both "major" and "minor" characters, which is why a straightforward redirection to "minor characters" isn't quite right -- as I explained in my third point above. (3) My counterproposal: Frankly, I think a much better solution for this page is to merge the content (character lists) into the article on Wolfram and Hart. But let's put a {{mergeto}} on it and allow some time for regular editors to chew the issue over, rather than courting another ArbCom. Please. (4) We may as well do it comprehensively; Senior Partners is just chock-full of OR, and I don't see why that article shouldn't get merged into Wolfram and Hart also (as well as a good cleanup). --Lquilter (talk) 23:28, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
(EC) Yes, I was being bold, as Bignole pointed out. This page doesn't seem to have any reason to exist, any info about W&H can go on the W&H article, and any info on minor Angel characters can go on the minor Angel characters pages. It's redundant. I was tidying up the minor characters list, adding character who I felt belonged there, and noticed that several of them were already here. The info is almost all on that page now, so is there any reason not to redirect? If you like we can merge it to Wolfram & Hart, I'm not really bothered, I was just trying to get rid of a redundant page.  Paul  730 23:34, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
