[edit] border point Mattierzoll

See south situated district of Mattierzoll was already since centuries a border area between different territories. After the second world war the internal border bordered here first the Soviet occupied zone, soon. In the 1950s the border place on western side had set up as a railway junction. Here the state road (Helmstedt-Holzminden) on Brunswick-Schöningen railway and the private road met Mattierzoll-Heudeber.
