William Trueheart (December 18, 1918 – December 24, 1992) was a United States diplomat. He is best known for being the acting U.S. Ambassador to South Vietnam from May 1963 to July 1963. During this time, he deputized for Frederick Nolting, who was on vacation. This period was marked by his reversal of Nolting's appeasement towards the autocratic regime of President Ngo Dinh Diem, as the Buddhist crisis escalated.
