Michael Forrestal

Michael V. Forrestal was one of the leading aides to McGeorge Bundy, the National Security Advisor of President John F. Kennedy. He was seen as a key figure in changing US policy towards approving the overthrow of Ngo Dinh Diem of South Vietnam.
Following the assassination of Diem and Kennedy, Forrestal's influenced decreased under the administration of Lyndon B. Johnson. He left government service in 1965.
