William Palin Elderton

Sir William Palin Elderton KBE PhD (Oslo) (1877-1962) was president of the Institute of Actuaries (1932-1934).
His sister Ethel M. Elderton was a research associate of Karl Pearson, and together the Eldertons wrote one of the first statistics textbooks (1909), which was inspired by Francis Galton (who wrote the preface), and went into five editions.
They also wrote at least seven other books together, mainly on demographic themes.
