William Brown (cricketer)

William Brown was a first class cricketer who played two matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, against Sussex at Hove in 1902 and against Ireland in Dublin in 1908.

He was a right arm fast bowler who took 4 wickets at 21 with a best of 3 for 61 on debut and a right handed tail ender who scored 2 runs in total. He also played for the Yorkshire Second XI from 1902-1909, Yorkshire Colts in 1902, Northallerton and District in 1903 and RW Frank's XI at Headingley in 1906.

His brother, John Thomas Brown, played 30 games for Yorkshire.

He was born on November 19, 1876 in Snape Hill, Darfield, near Barnsley, Yorkshire and died at 68 on July 27 in Barnsley.
