Hang on, was he REALLY an MP? In Britain "Member of Parliament" or "MP" always, in my experience, means a member of the House of Commons. As a Baron he will have served in Parliament - in the House of Lords - but that doesn't make him an MP in the sense that term is normally used. If he was an MP before he became Baron (he couldn't afterwards - peers can't sit in the Commons) then fine, but I can't find any source stating that. TSP 16:31, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
