[edit] First convo
So what is first?--Rayc 01:08, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, how about making Nebraska a good article.--Rayc 04:16, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Some of the other projects, including WikiProject Novels, have started having the members vote on what should be the top-priority articles to their projects, and then will with luck make those articles the ones of most likely collaboration. For this idea to work, though you'd probably want to add assessment criteria to the banner. If none of you are particularly sure how to do that, let me know and I should be able to add them shortly. Badbilltucker 18:28, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hey-I've created a Nebraska Highways Wikiproject, although I am not from Nebraska, after a request at WikiProject US Roads, and it needs participants. If anyone can help, that'd be great. Thanks. -- Dskluz 04:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GA Nebraska
To start off, I put Nebraska up for GA review. If it passes, we will have an award to put on our shelf. If it fails, we will have something particular to do. It's win win.--Rayc 03:40, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, it failed. I'll work on it some after the break, but if anyone wants to start, it would be fine--Rayc 06:03, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia Day Awards
Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 22:00, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Congressman Leo J. Ryan
- I have been doing some work to improve the classification status of the article on the only Congressman to die in the line of duty, Congressman Leo J. Ryan. Leo J. Ryan was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He posthumously received the Congressional Gold Medal. He represented California's 11th congressional district. Please let me know what you think, at Talk:Leo Ryan/Comments. Thank you for your time. Smee 19:28, 28 January 2007 (UTC).
[edit] North Omaha
I have created a massively comprehensive article here, including current and historical perspectives, and with respect to the diverse population, particularly the African American community. However, I would still like to flesh out the content, layout and design, particularly a lot more. Please, let me know what you think! Thanks. - Freechild 19:39, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, hope anyone can collaborate on these for improvement, but since finishing the previous article I've broke it out into History of North Omaha, Nebraska, Landmarks in North Omaha, Nebraska and Timeline of North Omaha, Nebraska history. I've also created Saratoga, Nebraska, Fort Lisa, Cabanne's Trading Post, Florence, Nebraska and East Omaha, Nebraska in relationship to the North Omaha article, and have added to the Nebraska Territory article lately, too. I also did up Fontenelle's Post and Fort Ponca. All these are Nebraska-related, and need attention from people who know how to write Wiki articles better than I. Thanks in advance. - Freechild 23:16, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- That quickly grew into List of articles related to North Omaha, Nebraska. I'm also working on the Omaha area in general, as well as various articles from Category:Forts in Nebraska. - Freechild 04:41, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] U.S. County Infoboxes
Almost none of the Nebraska counties are using the Infobox U.S. County template. Lots of work to be done! /Timneu22 01:42, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- Remaining:
Gosper, Greeley, Harlan, Hayes, Hitchcock, Jefferson, Johnson, Kearney, Keith, Keya Paha, Logan, Loup , McPherson, Morrill, Nance, Nemaha, Nuckolls, Otoe, Pawnee, Perkins, Pierce, Polk, Red Willow, Richardson, Saline, Rock, Seward, Sheridan, Otoe, Sherman, Sioux, Stanton, Thayer, Thomas, Valley.--Rayc 03:46, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
-
- It looks like all these have been done, however the editor(s) didn't use {{USCensusPop}} — instead, some hand-made table was used to show the templates by decade. Any change these articles could be improved? (See McPherson County.) Timneu22 (talk) 16:39, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New articles
Dear Wikipedians, a list of possible Nebraska-related articles found by bot is available at User:AlexNewArtBot/NebraskaSearchResult. Colchicum 14:54, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Is there a list of articles related to Nebraska? - Freechild 23:22, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes. – Swid (talk | edits) 01:06, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Swid, where does Template:Nebraska-geo-stub link to so that I can see a list of those articles? Love to have something random to work on. – Freechild (BoomCha) 23:23, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- If you want something random to work on, you could find all the websites for the individual counties and link them in their info boxs :)--Rayc 19:28, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes. – Swid (talk | edits) 01:06, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD notice

[edit] villages/cities - pictures and history request!
I've been browsing through pages for villages and cities in Nebraska (from those two category pages) and adding reqphoto to most of them. I think it would be brilliant if some of you could drive round and take pictures to add them to those pages, possibly with a link to Wikicommons with yet more pictures...Anyway, for me as a European I'm also very interested in how things come about - history! A lot of those pages don't have a history section, which I think is a shame.Zigzig20s 15:33, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] FYI - Omaha Wikiproject convo
Thought everyone here might want to weigh in on this: Wikiproject Omaha? – Freechild (BoomCha) 16:38, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Photo request
Can anyone take a quick picture of Omaha's Union Station? They're asking for it over at DYK. Thanks in advance if anyone does this. – Freechild (BoomCha) 22:07, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Beatrice
Hey, I'm a native, and added pics. Can I take off the tag on the talk page? Bryse 19:33, 13 August 2007 (UTC) Insertformulahere
[edit] Portal
I'm working on a Nebraska portal here, and I was wondering whether anyone here is still active. Temperaltalk and matrix? 19:58, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] License plates
Is the number representing each county on license plates of such great importance that it merits being addressed in the lead-in to each article?
