- Get the main National Football League article back up to Good Article status
- Tag Talk pages with {{NFLproject}}
- Add infoboxes to all NFL related biography articles.
- Update player articles with {{Infobox NFLretired}} and {{Infobox NFLactive}}.
- Improve Pro Bowl and its related articles
- Rate articles. See Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/National Football League articles by quality statistics.
- Create organizational structure for categories
- Convert tables to the more preferred "wikitable" class. See Help:Table#Style classes.
- Help peer review any articles currently up in the WikiProject's peer review department.
- Add top-level information to Current sports events as it occurs. EX: Super Bowl Champions and major achievements.
- Major cleanup of all team articles
- Major cleanup of most player articles, including expanding and sourcing them as needed
