Due to circumstances in my life, I need to reduce my activity in Wikipedia, and will be taking a leave of absence. I wish the Project the best of success while I am away. Chris 22:02, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject_Norse_history_and_culture

A new project has been formed for ancient and medieval Norse history and culture, both in Scandinavia and in the various areas around Europe and the North Atlantic where Norsemen settled. Briangotts (Talk) (Contrib) 15:02, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request copyedit

I request that somebody will do a copyedit and proper stub sorting on Slædepatruljen Sirius, that has recently been merged. Best regards Mads Angelbo Talk / Contribs 10:22, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Danish colonial empire

A single-edit account has nominated this article as "not neutral" since it doesn't mention the "plight" of the Greenlanders. Leaving the inherent POV of the edit summary aside, the article could need some expansion regarding Greenland. Valentinian T / C 11:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Auge Koch Nature Reserve

I came across this article through random article. I cannot find any sources on Google, Google Books, Google News or Google Scholar or databases for this article. I would be grateful if someone could confirm that this nature reserve exists. Capitalistroadster 03:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello Greenlanders of the cold!! Reindeer hunting in Greenland is up to GA quality -this should be assessed and peer reviewed. With some polish I think its FA potential ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 17:21, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Danish parliamentary election, 2007

Could someone please take a look at the Greenland part of the Danish parliamentary election, 2007 article? I live in Denmark and have no idea which parties from Greenland are able to run. Currently, several Greenland parties are listed as "likely to run", and it would be nice to move them to either the "running" or "not running" sections if and when it is known whether they will run or not. [edit] Comer's Midden

I just created an article on Capt. George Comer. One of the things he's notable for is:

In 1915, Comer served as ice master on the George B. Cluett, chartered by the American Museum of Natural History to bring back Donald MacMillan's men from the Crocker Land Expedition of northwestern Greenland. Enroute, the Cluett became trapped in the ice for two years, giving Comer opportunity to perform archaeological excavations at Umanaq/Uummannaq/Umanak (76°33′N, 68°52′W), a hill near Pituffik/Dundas, where he unearthed evidence of what's presently referred to as Thule people, ancestors of the Inuit. His find is called "Comer's Midden".

If anyone on this project has additional info regarding Comer's Midden, his excavation at Umanaq, etc., please add to the article, or let me know what reference material might be helpful so that I can. Also, I wasn't sure about adding your wikiproject banner on the George Comer talk page, but if you think it's appropriate, please do so. Thanks. Cheers. --Rosiestep (talk) 03:44, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I think the most comprehensive references on this will be Holtved, Erik: Archaeological Investigations in the Thule District volumes I and II (both 1944) and III (1954), published in the journal "Meddelelser om Grønland" by C. A. Reitzels Forlag. I will try and see if I can get a hold of a copy and add something, but my local library doesn't have a copy so it won't happen right away. Hemmingsen 08:49, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you, Hemmingsen, for creating the Comer's Midden article. I've expanded it a bit before nominating it at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created/expanded on May 3. If the article (or the DYK? nom) could benefit from additional tweaking, edit boldly! --Rosiestep (talk) 11:55, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
