To maintain article quality, please follow these rules:

• Provide sources for your edits
• ALWAYS make sure images you upload are under proper license Image Copyrights
• Restrain the number of red links
• Ensure external links are active/not broken
• AVOID emotional arguments, statements about editors of other nationalities, name calling, and anything that is not perceived as constructive, source-backed argument.

• Contribute and improve on the quality of Macedonia-related articles.
• Recognize and correct vandalism in Macedonia-related articles.

Many articles relating to the Republic of Macedonia, the Macedonian language, Macedonians and Macedonian history and politics may be controversial. For this reason, please be extra careful when editing or creating articles.

Please be sure to:

• Use a neutral point of view.

• Provide sources for your edits.

• Maintain civility at all times in your articles and comments. Using the article's discussion page to resolve disputes is a good way to ensure a good outcome. If a dispute escalates, alert an administrator, rather than allow the situation to degenerate into an edit war.

• Adhere to Wikipedia etiquette.

• Avoid emotional arguments, statements about editors of other nationalities, name-calling, and anything that is not perceived as constructive, source-backed argument.

• Please avoid lame edit wars about names. Do not FYROM or de-FYROM an article before checking the article's context and the article's discussion page. The Republic of Macedonia is the constitutional name of the Republic, and it is recognized as such by many nations. However, many international organizations, NGOs and sporting associations recognize the country as the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. In some contexts, the term FYROM will not be appropriate, while in others it will be. Please check the naming guidelines currently under development, and/or refer to Talk:Republic of Macedonia, Macedonia naming dispute and Talk:Macedonia naming dispute. If in doubt, make use of the article's discussion page.

Remember, irrespective of your nationality, race, religion or star sign, your grouping will be judged by your conduct, so keep it nice! :-)

WikiProject Republic of Macedonia now has its own article assessment department. Article assessment aids with improving and categorizing articles that fall under the scope of the project by focusing on quality articles and on articles in need of further work.

To help with assessment of an article, you can

1. join the project;
2. read the guidelines and familiarize yourself with the processes of article assessment (see link below);
3. add the {{WPMKD}} template below to the talk page of an article related to the Republic of Macedonia or Macedonians;
4. assess the article in terms of the criteria.
