Wikipedia:WikiProject Furry
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Guidelines
- Don't add articles without sources. Lack of good sources is the number one cause of deletionism in wikipedians.
- Users shouldn't need intimate knowledge of furry fandom to be able to verify an article. Learn how to use references. See Furry convention and Samuel Conway for examples.
- There is no such thing as a "good" or "bad" fact - it's either verifiable or it's not. If you think it may be misleading, explain the context, but let readers come to their own conclusions.
- Be careful copying from WikiFur. Some information may be inappropriate for Wikipedia. Further sources will probably be required. If you do copy, use {{WikiFur}} on the talk page.
- Link to WikiFur only if it goes beyond Wikipedia's maximum depth of coverage. Use "Article name at WikiFur" or "WikiFur:Article name", not just "Article name". Add to External links.
- Avoid adding the project banner to an article's talk page unless the article shows a clear relation to this project's topic. If it's not clear, add relevant information to the article first.

- Galactor213 (talk · contribs) - I'm knowledgeable in the more obscure parts of the fandom, as well as a counter-vandal and general cleanup man.

- Wwwwolf (talk · contribs) - Well, I don't know much about things, but I can always write about fluffiness! ...and games.
- Schneelocke (talk · contribs) - don't expect much editing from me, though (something that's actually true for me for the entirety of Wikipedia)
- H Hog (talk · contribs) - I'm mostly part of the Sonic Sub-fandom, but I have a fairly decent knowledge of other Furry areas of interest, too. Also, regular cleanup.
- Bear Eagleson (talk · contribs) - furry art, furry role-playing games (especially World Tree). I don't have as much time to edit Wikipedia as I used to, but I'll do what I can.
- Tikuko (talk · contribs) - Wikignoming, fursuits, and a handful of various minor subjects
- Mwalimu59 (talk · contribs) - General editing, cleanup, vandalism monitoring; knowledgeable about The Lion King and furry literature

- P1_2004gsb (talk · contribs) - Check for Vandalism whenever possible.
- Superlagg (talk · contribs) - Information vegetable, animal, and mineral. Also, I can spot textacular errors 50 Internets away, I am good Public Relations, and I can write things. Though, I recommend that we try to use as few furry terms as possible, I'm pretty sure people dont like it when we use "yiffy" in a serious sentence.
- JJS911 (talk · contribs) - general information, vandalism cleanup, fursuit editing
- DennisTheTiger (talk · contribs) - checking in, just keeping things in line. =^_^=
- Merond e (talk · contribs) - I got invited because of my interest in Sonic, and that's probably what I'll be editing the most. :)
- Chaos386 (talk · contribs) - General editing, vandal-watching, and cleanup.
- Starmenclock (talk · contribs) - I am here to prevent anti-furry vandalisms, and try to improve the Sonic articles as much as I can.
- Zippokovich (talk · contribs) - I have a good knowledge of many furry artist and authors.
- Xlr8 the Hedgehog (talk · contribs) - I'm going to improve on the Sonic the Hedgehog section due to the fact I'm his #1 fan!
- Scani (talk · contribs) - Copyediting, general contributions, vandalism protection (if everyone above doesn't get to it first :P), dispute mediation wherever possible.
- Theyain Riyu (talk · contribs) - I help when I can.
- --Kªrºnªwªy 22:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC) - Proud furry, glad to help on making articles from a neutral POV.
- SilverWerewolf (talk · contribs) - Editing, contributions, improving furry articles, adding new ones if possible, removing vandalism from furry haters, adding furry webcomics. I try to stop misinformation and disinformation of the fandom by telling the real purpose and truth of the Furries and what reason the fandom is meant for without negativity and hatred. I have been a furry fan since I was a child due to my love of animals and old anthropomorphic animal cartoons. I read a lot furry webcomics, graphic novels, manga, novels, and information. I even enjoy playing furry games. My furry interests is much similar and different from other furry fans. I support Furries!
- Tomi Undergallows (talk · contribs) - I'm in contact with a number of furry artists, I might be able to help out. And be a relentless editor :3. I suppose I could also be considered a greymuzzle, being in the Fandom for about 5 years (in the shadows until last year). I'd also like to help out improving/expanding existing articles.

Please feel free to list your new Furry-related articles here (newer articles at the top, please). Any new articles that have an interesting or unusual fact in them should be suggested for the Did you know? box on the Main Page.
[edit] Requested articles
- Lists of reputable furry forums and non-yiff sites, primarily for the use of those new to the fandom
- Things to bear in mind is that Wikipedia is not a web directory, and there is a lack of reliable sources on the topic. I imagine a list could be written in close to an encyclopedic manner (see list of furry conventions), but defining what "reputable" is concerns me, as does the idea that we would censor it based on a sexual content. What business do we have hiding such sites from anyone? The closest I think we could come to an actual article is something like history of furry fandom, which would discuss the larger sites in a historical context. A pure list is probably best left to others, such as the Recommended Anthropomorphics List. GreenReaper (talk) 22:37, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- T.H.E. Fox (see WikiFur, AfD, deletion review)
- Even though I disagree with its deletion, I think it will need at least one reliable third-party source to survive future AfDs. This is all I could find with Google, but it may not be reliable enough. -kotra (talk) 17:56, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm not so sure about that source - it sounds suspiciously like the Wikipedia article, and they don't even touch on the fact that it was around before there was a web. GreenReaper (talk) 18:22, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

- The Furtean Times: An online fanzine. I would create it myself, but because I work for it, it would probably be seen as a conflict of interest. ISD (talk) 19:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Show us the reliable sources that can be used to back up facts stated in the article and perhaps we can do something. Bear in mind that the only furry fanzines that currently have articles have 50+ issues. GreenReaper (talk) 01:20, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
