The White-bellied Shortwing (Brachypteryx major) is a species of bird in the Turdidae family. It is endemic to India. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
This species is sometimes[1] placed in the genus Myiomela; it is then known as Nilgiri Blue Robin.
