Westfield Vancouver, formerly known as Vancouver Mall, is a shopping mall owned by The Westfield Group, and is located in Vancouver, Washington. It is anchored by JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom and Sears.
[edit] History
Opened in September 1977 by May Centers, Inc. with Meier & Frank, Nordstrom and Sears. During phase two of mall expansion, a JCPenney was added; Lipmans was also proposed but never built. Eventually, Mervyns would open where the Lipmans had been planned.
The mall was acquired in 1994 by Westfield America, Inc., a precursor of The Westfield Group. In 1998 it was renamed "Westfield Shopppingtown Vancouver". The "Shoppingtown"" name was dropped in June 2005. The Meier & Frank store was renamed Macy's in September 2006 and expanded their location in 2006 as well.
The 82,225 ft² Mervyn's closed in January 2007. Plans have been proposed by Westfield to significantly renovate the center, but no definite announcement has been made.
