[edit] History
Opened in 1977 by The Hahn Company and acquired in 1998 by Westfield America, Inc., a precursor of The Westfield Group, which renamed it "Westfield Shoppingtown Capital", dropping the "Shoppingtown" from the name in 2005. It has undergone a $50 million expansion and renovation, adding the "Promenade at Westfield Capital" with Borders Books and Music in August 2006. A 14-screen Century Theatres multiplex opened on May 25 2007, while Mervyn's closed their 99,924 sq. ft. store on December 31 2006, after a clearance sale.
