Who keeps changing the bit about teachers? i think its very relevant that people know about kimbo and the big fezz, whos the tool whos changin it? its not necessary, anyone who went to westminster would understand and appreciate those men because they were great teachers! kabez777 7:24 24 july 2007

The motto "Deo Duce" as proposed by Shirley Jeffries is translated according to Harry Woolacott in his book "The first decade" as "God being our leader". My latin isn't too good, but shouldn't we then substitute this as the motto in lieu of 'With God as my Leader'.Phawkins 11:45, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Internet resources suggest "With God for a leader" as a literal translation, but I tend to lean to your suggestion if this has been the popularly accepted translation within the school community. Murtoa 12:07, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

While I was there (1973-1977), we were told that Deo Duce meant "God leading" or "God leading me". I don't think Latin has/had an equivalent of the leading preposition "with", but it's implied. Happy with either "With God Leading" or "With God Leading Me". Better Latin scholars than I could clarify whether the declension is first person singular or not. I suspect that in Latin it is impossible to say "With God Leading" and that you would have to say "With God Leading Me/Thou/him-her/Us/You/Them". --Ossipewsk 04:56, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

A Google search for translations of Deo Duce finds several like those above ("With God as my Leader", "God is our leader" etc), but also as "Under the Leadership of God", "Under God's direction", "Under the guidance of God", . Oakhill College in Castle Hill, NSW translates it as "God our Leader". Just my two cents. --Ossipewsk 05:21, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

I don't ever remember 'God be in my Head' being referred to as 'the school prayer'. I'm sure we only ever sung it ( badly)- so does this make it 'the school hymn?'Phawkins 10:26, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Regarding references added for notable old scholars (and others) there are two elements to verification. One is to verify the notability eg. first class cricketer; the other is to verify that they were actually connected with the school.
