[edit] northernmost Jesuit establishment?
Where could be found the fact, tahat "Santa Gertrudis [was] at that time the northernmost Jesuit establishment"? I assume it may be northernmost California or northernmost Mexico establishment, but not really northernmost at all. AFAIK there were e.g. Canadian Jesuit missions already at that time.
