Wells Thompson (born November 25, 1983) is an American soccer player, who currently plays midfield for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.

[edit] High school and college
Thompson started his high school career at R.J. Reynolds High School and then moved on to Forsyth Country Day School. He earned an All-North Carolina first team selection as a junior and senior as well as an all-conference and all-region selection.[1] After high school, he attended Wake Forest University where he played college soccer for four years.

Thompson began his professional career with the Carolina Dynamo in the USL Premier Development League. He was taken by the Revolution with the fifth overall selection in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and signed with the league.
