WBKS (107.1 Kiss FM) is a rhythmic Contemporary station covering the Huntington, West Virginia area. The Clear Channel Communications outlet broadcasts at 107.1 MHz with an ERP of 3.1Kw and is licensed to Ironton, Ohio.
[edit] History
WBKS, which originally signed on the air as WITO, would later go through format and call letter changes as WMLV (1985-97) and WFXN (1997-2002) before Clear Channel transformed them into a local version of the Kiss-FM brand. But unlike the traditional Top 40 Mainstream Kiss-FM format that is used at their sister stations, this version focuses on Rhythmic hits and doesn't use the trademarked blue ball. The reason for this is due to having a sister station in WKEE, which is the market's Top 40 outlet.
