[edit] History

I'm a little amazed that neither this page nor the Washington, Pennsylvania page has a "History" section, considering how much went on here between the 1780s and the 1840s. The National Road? The Whiskey Rebellion? C'mon, people! Okay, I'll have to find time, even though I don't live here. :-) --Michael K. Smith 12:21, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

- I don't live there either, but I'm interested in writing a history section if someone can help me out by reviewing. My family lived there from ca 1770 to 1870 before going across the river to Belmont County, OH. I've read numerous histories of the area searching for family information. I'm new to editing in Wikipedia so I'm not sure I would follow all the policies correctly. Dionhouston (talk) 20:51, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I encourage you to just go for it and start writing. I have written extensively about Lycoming County. When I started I was pretty new to it too. Like I said just go for it and I'll be glad to help! Dincher (talk) 21:10, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Ditto - it is very useful if your contributions are based on reliable sources (history books, some history websites). I would also be glad to help, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 22:10, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
