HANGON - This page is no different than that of Orange County Choppers. [edit] Notability of Warlock Motorcycle Company

A tag has been placed on Warlock Motorcycle Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Smile a While (talk) 03:48, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] username concern

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Possibly promotional in nature. Please see WP:ADVERT. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. Wisdom89 (T / C) 04:20, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

My username is unique and to my identity, which is no different in what your name is to your identity. I happen to enjoy gothic names such as Warlock and like motorcycles. That creates my identity which is no different than anyone else creating an identity. This is not promotional.

I cannot believe that at all, since your sole activity here has been to promote a new company called "Warlock Motorcycles." Wikipedia is not an advertising service, and has hard standards for notability that brand new companies do not meet, and tends to be extremely skeptical of self-posted articles. See WP:BFAQ and WP:COI. By the way, because this is such an obvious situation, I've had to block you for the inappropriate username combined with advertising. [edit] Blocked

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:Business' FAQ and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here.
