Waiting for Santa

"Waiting for Santa" was the first Barney and the Backyard Gang Christmas Eve special. Made in 1990 and released on video in 1991,[1] it features an array of traditional Christmas songs.

Everyone is asleep in Michael's house. Michael and Amy wake up because Barney is trying to come down the chimney and has got stuck. After he is released he magically brings the other kids to Michael's house and then he whisks them to see Santa. At the North Pole the kids meet Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, a snowman and Derek. After helping Santa, the gang return home and Barney reads "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (also known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas"), and they all fall back asleep.
