Volda University College

Volda University College (Norwegian: Høgskulen i Volda or HVO) is a høgskole, a Norwegian state institution of higher education, in the village of Volda, Norway. It was established August 1, 1994, and has approximately 2900 students and 340 employees.
The College has a long tradition dating back to a teachers' training college established in 1895.
The university college is divided into four faculties: the Faculty of Humanities and Education, the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts, the Faculty of Social Sciences and History, and the Faculty of Media and Journalism.
There are a total of 5 Master's Programmes, 30 undergraduate study programmes, and about 300 courses offered.
The College is also host of the annual Documentary Film Festival (Den Norske Dokumentarfilmfestivalen) and a a lively social environment, centered around "Rokken" (Rokken.no (Norwegian)).
The current rector is Jørgen Amdam.
