"View of Old Point from the Hill," from The History of Norridgewock by William Allen, published in 1849 by Edward J. Peet of Norridgewock, Maine. Old Point is the site of Norridgewock Indian Village, now part of Madison, Maine, and shows the obelisk grave marker of Father Sebastien Rale (or Rasle). The Kennebec River bends around the intervale, its confluence with the Sandy River at center.
