(A2's were never fitted with Westinghouse Cross Compound brake pumps. They were not rebuilt with superheated boilers, merely, the existing boiler was fitted with a 'Schmidt' type superheater.)

Thanks for the corrections, and yes the lack of cross compound compressor is evident in the photo of A2 986 in the 1960s. I've also corrected the link for superheaters ([[superheater]]s not [[superheaters]]). Zzrbiker 05:18, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
