(A2's were never fitted with Westinghouse Cross Compound brake pumps. They were not rebuilt with superheated boilers, merely, the existing boiler was fitted with a 'Schmidt' type superheater.)
- Thanks for the corrections, and yes the lack of cross compound compressor is evident in the photo of A2 986 in the 1960s. I've also corrected the link for superheaters ([[superheater]]s not [[superheaters]]). NB: You'd probably want to have this discussion on the Talk:Victorian Railways A2 class page.
