[edit] Verbal Deception improvements
I would just like to know what improvements need to be made to the page so that it doesn't sound like an advertisement, even though 3rd party sources need to be given for notability. Also, this article does meet 4 of the music notability criteria. They are listed below:
1. It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.
2. Has had a charted hit on any national music chart.
4. Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country, reported in reliable sources.
7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.
If I am incorrect in saying that this page meets these criteria please let me know. Mentally Blind 15:25, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Okay here's some advice:
- Reviews of the band's album's don't count as sources that establish notability because any unsigned band can get their demo reviewed by all these internet webzines.
- You say the band has a charted hit? Provide a source for that, but I hardly believe this is true since the band is not famous (band's that have charted hits are generally pretty well-known).
- It would do a lot of good to the article if all the statements saying that the band has a unique original sound were removed. A good portion of these have already been removed, but there are still some in there.
- Finally, the article needs to assert notability in a different way than filling the biography section with statements such as "Verbal Deception has been reviewed by ___,___, and ___ webzines.
- Hope this helps. --Leon Sword 19:58, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Prod.
It was removed the first time like an hour before the article was supposed to be deleted by Mentally Blind without establishing any notability which I felt was wrong and the reason I readded it, as it was removed without giving rationale, just to prevent this article from being deleted a 7th time, apparently. -- Shatterzer0 20:15, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- The way the prod system works is: someone prods an article and the tag remains for at least five days unless someone removes it before the article is deleted. If someone removes the prod for whatever reason, the article can't be prodded again. If someone still thinks the article should be deleted then the article has to be taken to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. --Leon Sword 20:26, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
