[edit] Majin vegeta

Do we really need two of the exact same pictures of Majin Vegeta? Stormin' Foreman 13:59, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

yes.TheClownPrinceofCrime 14:26, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

No, we don't. There's no sense in posting the same pic twice. --MajinVegeta 14:53, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bulma and Vegeta married ?

Are vegeta and Bulma married or what ?

It is implied that they married during the seven years gap between Cell and Buu sagas. Sign your posts.--Kim Kusanagi 18:19, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Well considering they have two children together over a long stretch of time I don't think they just had children for the sake of it. --Gaiash 23:13, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Read the last manga (page 95). Vegeta becomes furious when he learns Goku bribes Lord of Lords with a 'naughty' pic of Bulma. The dialouge is as follows: Vegeta- "...Kakarrot, you'd better not be talking about Bulma."

Goku- "EEP?!"

Lord of Lords- "...I do like them mature..."

Vegeta- "I Knew it!! She's my wife!!! Give him a picture of your own wife!!"

The bold letters are even bold in the manga. [[User:SxeFluff|--SxeFluff 03:15, 11 October 2007 (UTC)]] 22:20, 10 October 2007

Sidenote, in Future Trunks's timeline Vegeta and Bulma never did get married. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.163.11.22 (talk) 18:03, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Vegetaprince.jpg

Image:Vegetaprince.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Continuous Energy Bullets?

While Majin Buu was fighting SS3 Goku, Buu fired many energy blasts in a Machine gun effect. Goku claimed that this was an attack copied from Vegeta. Shouldn't this attack be listed too?

-No need to worry about that anymore, I put it in. This attack is one of Vegeta's signature attacks, Identified in the Super Butoden games as Renzoku Energy Dan. I added it as well as a detailed description of how it works.

[edit] Personality

Something should be added to show that he falters to maintain his arrogant personality at certain times-- e.g before his death on Namek and various other times. 86.5.13.121 14:30, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Krilin blasting Vegeta

It said that he Vegeta angered Krilin by callling him a "pathetic human". In japanese, Vegeta threatened to kill him, and that was what prompted Krillin to shoot a ki blast at Vegeta. If the English version says something different, then someone needs to differentiate between the two. But I've editted what happened in the original version, along with some other additions, like to his personality and sharing his food with Boo, among other changes.

In the manga, yeah, I think Vegeta called Krillin something like a "pathetic human", something along those lines anyway. It's the same in the anime too. I think Krillin got so pissed off by Vegeta that he just decided to blast him. Son Gohan (talk) 15:43, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I made a chenge to the ssj2 section...

I made it a little bit more impartial to all parts, I think. read it and judge by yourself.--Kim Kusanagi 19:28, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image Deletion

Can someone tell me how to remove these images from speedy deletion? I don't know why thius has been done but the MV and Oozaru Vegeta pics in particular are used for informative purposes that a description alone can't fully relate and they have very full fair use history.Darkwarriorblake 12:48, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Revert reasons

As you may have seen on the article itself I have reverted the Vegeta article back at least 100 revisions. The reason being is that in the past few months the article has gotten worse and excess plot information was added. Any minor details can just be changed back, it is not a big deal, but to manually change such a large body of text would be nigh impossible. Discuss below weather you agree with this or not. DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 22:08, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

I can understand wanting to cut back on the excess info. but in doing this, you deleted some perfectly good new information. It's going to be a long job, but a group of people in the DBZ project need to go through the information themselves and decide whats should stay in and what should come out. This is what the talk page is for. Until then I am going to revert it back to the way it was before. --Lucky Mitch 02:24, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

no you are not, We are cutting back on plot information, not adding more to it. DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 12:07, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Again, I can understand wanting to cut back on the excess information but in doing this, you deleted some perfectly good new information. You should go through the information yourself and choose what stays and what goes. Alot of the parts you reverted back to are inacurate.--Lucky Mitch 00:51, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes but what is more inaccurate: and article which's main body is poorly written and overly long, but with ok other information, or an article with a better main body and par other information? DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 12:17, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

In Wikipedia, neither is good, but factual accuracy is more important than poorly written and overly long information. Poor and excessive writing can be fixed; fixing an article after a great deal of its accurate facts have been deleted and replaced with inaccurate facts that are written grammatically correct is more difficult. I saw that you did a good job of fixing up the excessively long Super Saiyan 2 section. This just needed to be done to every other part of the article. But since the mass reverting of the article is now way in the past, I will not revert it back anymore, but I may add a few things in where I think more detail or information is needed. Tell me if you disapprove of the edits I make in the future so I don't take it too far and cause us to have to do this all over again. You should do the same for all the other contributors as well.--Lucky Mitch 01:21, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Telling users of whether or not you approve of their edits isn't exactly a good thing to do.--$UIT 20:30, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

And you think this because...--Lucky Mitch 03:02, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Just saying that some might take it as WP:OWN.--$UIT 21:32, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Good point, but User:DBZROCKS is also part of Wiki Project Dragonball (just as you are) and represents them and their rules for all the Dragonball pages on Wikipedia. From what I have seen, he has not he has not been doing anything harmful, he is just trying to make sure this particular page abides by the rules set by Wiki Project Dragonball. If it was a person who was not part of Wiki Project Dragonball doing the things DBZROCKS has been doing, I would completely agree with you and your concern, but from what I can tell, he is really just making sure that this page follows the rules set by Wiki Project Dragonball. Of course since you are part of Wiki Project Dragonball, you are on the same level as him and if you disagree with his edits you should talk with him about it.

Also, I am not saying you cannot discuss things with him or anyone else for that matter. If I feel DBZROCKS is not using this power he has correctly I will dispute it with him. If he does not explain why my edit cannot be used with a reasonable/logical excuse, thats when I would feel he is violating WP:OWN. Hopefully he realizes he does not own this page and that not only he has the right to make edits.--Lucky Mitch 00:50, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Its not whos making the edits but the edits themselves. If someone is making crummy edits and screwing up the article, I will revert it. It is not only my right to do so but everyone elses. DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 12:33, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Games section

The fact that the names of the games are links lets people who want to know more to follow them and find out what forms were available, story and all that miscellaneous junk that doesn't need to be here, including any more pictures than what already exist.

The list form is perfect for those who want to come here, know immediately what games hes in, what systems these are on if they want them and thats all that is needed here, not huge amounts of prose and 'selected' notable games.Darkwarriorblake 00:38, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Over 9,000

I was searching for "over 9000" and I was redirected to this page. However, there is no reference to "over 9000" on this page. I'm assuming that a page on "over 9000" was deleted for lack of relevance, probably true, but if an article is redirected, the information from the original page *must* be incorporated into the new page. Anyone care to add it? Famico666 11:34, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Its not relevant and will not be added, I will put up that redirect page for deletion. DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 12:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

It doesn't have to be added here but it is a popular internet meme that I've seen used in a variety of online jokes. So it perhaps deserve a mention on its own page. It is an encyclopedia after all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darkwarriorblake (talkcontribs) 14:21, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

No, there's nothing encyclopedic about it. It's a popular fan video, nothing more. Someone added a section for it, and I gladly removed it.--VorangorTheDemon (talk) 13:03, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, the only reason I've come to this page is 'over 9000', and yes, it was due to a redirect. You'd think there would be at least one mention of it on this page - even if it is 'appearance in other media' or something - needn't be more than a sentence, and maybe could say the episode 'Over Nine Thousand!!' comes from. I would agree that shouldn't have a page or even necessarily a section of this page of its own. Stevebritgimp not signed in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.11.229.73 (talk) 01:08, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

What's going on? I wanted to find out more about this "Over 9000" meme I keep seeing and I get redirected to a page that doesn't have it. If it is relevent to Vegeta, it should get a section. I mean if the whole Rick Rolling meme gets an entire wikipedia page, then over 9000 should at least get a section, regardless of how small it is. I'm highly disappointed that this isn't up yet. To VorangorTheDemon: Perhaps you should "gladly remove" rickroll, Loituma Girl, Dancing Banana, Hampster dance and all the other "popular fan videos" that currently have pages on wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.232.71.73 (talk) 23:47, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I think somewhere in the Vegeta artice, there should be something about the "Over 9,000" internet meme. Not a whole section, just a mention of it being an internet meme and maybe the actual script of what he said. This is what he and Nappa said, his exact words in the Ocean Dub:

Nappa: Vegeta, what does the scouter say about his power level?

Vegeta: (takes off scouter): IT'S OVER 9,000!!! (crushes scouter in anger)

Nappa: Over 9000?! There's no way that can be right--can it? Son Gohan (talk) 15:50, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Main Picture?

Is it okay to change the main picture into one of his earlier appereance, prefferably the Saiyan Saga outfit (Including a scouter if possible)? I think that gives him a better represantation, especially when he is small, compared to his size later on the series. The current picture is great, unfortunatly, his whole forhead covers almost the whole image.

And my apology, if I tried to just change the picture without asking permission. :o) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dso700 (talkcontribs) 07:40, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

I think a body picture would be better to give people a real idea of what he looks like. Currently it's kind of hard to tell, with the only clear picture of his outfit a picture of his gorilla form... Kariteh 08:11, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
We should get a good body shot for the plot summary, maybe a pic of him during the Buu saga? DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 12:26, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
I think a Body shot of the Saiyan Saga, because in the Saiyan Saga, he is far more easily distinguishable from the others, mainly due to his height. Especially when he stands right next to Nappa.dso700 0:14, 13 September 2007 (GMT +1)

[edit] Which Cell Saga?

I'll be honest, I know very little about Dragon Ball. So, when I see comments embedded in the article that say consensus was already reached to use "Cell Saga" instead of "Android Saga," I take it at face value. When I dug a little more, I noticed that Cell Saga is actually a dab page for three separate sagas. So, I'm asking a few questions:

  1. Are we using "Cell Saga" to refer to an overall arc covering the three cell sagas, or are we really referring to one in particular?
  2. Did the events described occur exclusively in (a/the) Cell Saga, or did they also occur in the Android Saga?
  3. Does anybody have a secondary source to provide the information? I.e., for this purpose, a pointer to the episode where it happened isn't sufficient; I'm looking for somebody else's reliable write-up of the episode.

Like I said, apologies if I'm reinventing the wheel, in which case, please give a short summary here and a pointer to the talk archive. Regards, —C.Fred (talk) 01:32, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

I have the Episode on DVD and as soon as I can find it (LOL) I will let you guys know but I am positive that the Image was used on The Secret Of Dr. Gero. It was after Vegeta defeated Nineteen. I would also like to add the fact that Trunks nor Goten reaches Super Saiyan 2 in the Magna or Anime. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.7.239.237 (talkcontribs) 01:52, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, but do you have a secondary source? If all you have is the DVD, the answer is no, and I know the WikiProject standard is to avoid using the DVD (the primary source) whenever possible. —C.Fred (talk) 16:55, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
The original Manga is our primary source. To make the story arcs easier to understand we have called them by the titles that the original japanese uses, with what you know as the Saiyan and vegeta saga being the Saiyan saga, what you know as the Namek, Ginyu and Frieza sagas are simply the Freeza saga in Japan. What you know as the Trunks, android, Imperfect, Perfect and Cell games sagas are simply the Cell saga in Japan. And finally the World Tournament, Great Saiyaman, Majin Buu, Fusion and Kid buu sagas are simply the Buu saga. Does that answer your question? DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 18:23, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vegeta's Age

I don't know who messed up Vegeta's age on this page but Toriyama even stated in an interview that when he arrived on Earth he was 29 years old so I don't get where someone could believe he's 30-40 something years old when he doesn't even look that old. Son of Kong —Preceding unsigned comment added by Son of Kong (talkcontribs) 00:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Remember, Saiyans don't look as old as they really are. Remember, at the end of GT, Goku was seen, but he would have been more then 100 since Pan was an old lady, but he didn't look that old at all.207.14.79.74 (talk) 17:39, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
GT isn't part of the original Dragon Ball timeline, but still you make a good reference to where it says that Saiyans don't age rapidly past a certian point. However, in addition to supposedly stating that Vegeta was 29, Toriyama also stated that Nappa was 50, which explained why he appeared older. Dragon Ball is inconsistent, what occurs earlier in the series isn't always what applies later on. Son of Kong, can you reference where it says that Toriyama stated Vegeta is 29 when he comes to Earth? --VorangorTheDemon (talk) 21:01, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to know how Vegeta is 43 at DBZ's end and 50 at DBGT's beginning when 10 years passed between the two. 43+10 does not equal 50 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.236.174.229 (talk) 14:17, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually no one is quite sure how long the gap between Z and GT is, everyone assumes that it's 10, but no one really knows.--VorangorTheDemon (talk) 13:59, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

OK, suppose Vegeta actually is 29 when he arrived on Earth. He would've stayed that way up until the Trunks Saga, where one year has passed, Goku has returned to Earth after defeating Freeza and Trunks has warned them of the upcoming threat of the Androids. Vegeta would be 30. After three years of training, he would be 33. Seven years later after the defeat of Cell, Vegeta would be 40. By that time, it is the Majin Boo Saga. Ten years pass after Boo's death, Vegeta would be about 50. And still, Vegeta looks as young as ever. No need to explain that, it's his remarkable Saiyan genes that makes him look so young, like Goku. That's why the Saiyan race never seem to age. If ten years really did pass when GT begin -- well, do the maths. Son Gohan (talk) 15:57, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Purple, Brown and Black Hair

it should be mentioned that at the beginning Vegeta had brown hair, later he had black hair and in the videogames he is coloured with a dark purple hair —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.157.151.126 (talk) 03:30, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

No it shouldn't, his hair has been colored using shades of red, brown, purple, and grey; however his hair color is officially brown (which I personally find strange because King Veget looks more like he has brown hair in the anime, but his hair color is officialy black). Also, remember that nobody has any pure hair color, black hair is a combination of many hair colors, predominantly extremely dark brown (there is no such thing as a black hair, it's all dark brown).Adroa (talk) 22:42, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Every single pure-blooded Saiyan should have black hair. Look at the examples -- Goku, Raditz, Bardock, Bardock's friend Toma, the Saiyans that were seen when Dodoria explained why Freeza destroyed Planet Vegeta...well, there aren't that many Saiyans to list, since only four remained after Vegeta's destruction. Nappa was bald, though, but in flashbacks, Nappa clearly has black hair. Nappa's hair didn't grow back because full-blooded Saiyans' hair do not grow from the day they are born. Future Trunks was a half-Saiyan, but he had purple hair because his mother Bulma had purple hair, so he kind of gained hair genes from her. Goten as a child had hair exactly like Goku because both Goku and Chi-Chi had black hair. And Vegeta and King Vegeta were the highest royalty of the Saiyan race, of course they had black hair. Even Broly and his father Paragus had black hair. I conclude my argument. Son Gohan (talk) 12:44, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

You're argument is irrelevant; but for the sake of argument let's say it is valid. Remember King Vegeta? In the anime he clearly has brown hair.Adroa (talk) 03:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Name Origin

The Origin listed for his name is Wrong. "Bejita" isn't Japanese for "King" in any way. The Japanese word for King is "Ou". Vegeta's name comes from the word Vegetable, Keeping with the pun of the Saiyan race. Saiya (there is no N in the Japanese way of spelling it) is an anagram of "Yasai" the Japanese word for Vegetable. all of the full-blooded Saiyans are named after Vegetables (Raditz = Radish, Kakarott = Carott, Nappa is a Chinese Cabbage, Broli = Broccoli) and, Being the royal Family, Vegeta and his Father are named after Vegetables themselves. I made this Change earlier since this is an Obvious Fact, it's Even mentioned in the Page for the Saiyans, so I didn't think anyone would dispute it, but someone changed it back. What I just said is Not only quite obvious, but is verifyable (Bejita is obviously taken from Bejitaburu, the Romanization of the Katakana for "Vegetable") but this "King" Theory is not, it doesn't even cite the Japanese word for king ("Ou") in it's explanation. Please change it back to what I put, or something similar. DemonRin 19:14, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Really, whatever is in the article about the name needs a reliable source to back it up. Worse, calling it "quite obvious" means it's rather close to original research. I'll be glad to change it, if you can find a source to back up how the name applies to the character. —C.Fred (talk) 02:23, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
The only source I can think of off the top of my head, is The Character Daizenshuu. and this Dictionary site's entry for the Katakana "Vegetable". But, I can verify that There is no version of the Word "King" that even includes any of the characters in "Bejita" Just go here and Type in King. About 5 responses come up, and none of them Even include Any of the Characters in Vegeta's Name. (and this site was used as a Reference to "Yasai" in the Saiyan Article, so I know it's acceptable as one) so PLEASE remove that incorrect line about Vegeta's Name being derived from king. I'll also look for a Source on Vegetable, but in all honesty, it's too obvious to deny really, and the "List of Saiyans" article already lists King Vegeta's Name pun as "Vegetable" without a source, it also lists all the Other Saiyan's puns without sources. DemonRin 19:36, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
People you are taking things too seriously, "Vegeta" is a pun on "vegetable", all this "king" nonsense is product of an anon edit. - Caribbean~H.Q. 02:57, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
So desu ka. Thank you for tracking down that diff! It had been in long enough that I figured more knowledgable editors had vetted and approved it. Based on that diff, I support DemonRin's change. —C.Fred (talk) 04:12, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Power Level Info

I think there should be some information about Vegeta's power levels. Like, in the Namek Saga (manga-wise), when Vegeta powered up for Kiwi, Zarbon's scouter exploded, saying the power level was 24,000, higher than his and Dodoria's. Then Dodoria exclaimed that it was impossible that he could get that powerful, as he could barely get up to 18,000 before. Maybe this should be noted? Son Gohan (talk) 16:43, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Why won't the tail grow back?

In DBZ manga volume 5, when Vegeta crash-lands on Planet Freeza #79 in his spaceship after being almost killed by Gohan, he is rushed into the treatment center, where his wounds are healed in a rejuvenation chamber. When he comes out, the doctor says "Unfortunately, your tail could not be regenerated." WTF? Saiyans can't regenerate tails in the first place! But Vegeta replies saying "No matter, it'll grow back again." Yes, I know Gohan's tail grew back after Piccolo cut it off, but Vegeta's tail never grows back. Did Akira Toriyama just forget about the tails (judging by Goten & Trunks not having tails, I think he did) or did Vegeta get it wrong and Saiyans don't grow back tails when they become adults? Son Gohan (talk) 19:21, 3 June 2008 (UTC) The Author just forgot, that's all. With super Saiyan tails became inconvenient.Adroa (talk) 00:58, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vegeta's Garlic Cannon.

I read on here that Vegeta's Garlic Gannon (Gallick Gun) was used only once in the series. However I was watching the Funimation dub just a few minutes ago, and I noticed that when SSJ2 Goku is fighting Majin Vegeta, after Goku punches Vegeta with the huge rocks after he breaks from his energy rings, he sends Vegeta into a cave. Once in the cave, after Vegeta grabs Goku in what seems to be some sort of full nelson and tries to slam him into a spike on the ceiling, Goku pushes him back and they both put their hands together as if preparing for an energy attack.

You can clearly hear Goku yell "Kamehameha" but also if you listen very closely, at the same time you can hear Vegeta yell "Gallick Gun"

I don't know if Funimation is canon but I noticed this while watching the show. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.209.201.191 (talk) 07:35, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
