Vathy (Greek: Βαθύ - Vathý), also known as Samos, is a municipality on the island of Samos in eastern Greece. It is the capital and main town of the island and prefecture of Samos. The municipality is comprised of numerous towns, villages, and settlements, but its two largest are Samos (pop. 6,236), and Vathy (pop. 2,025). The town of Samos is the largest on the island, and the heart of its economy based on tourism.
