Greetings, Valeren. Some time ago you added some material to Phocus about a metamorphosis story involving a seal. [1]. Can you give a reference? I can't find the story on Perseus [2]. Thanks, Fut.Perf. ☼ 08:44, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- P.S.: Same goes for all your other additions to Greek mythological stories you made in February. I can't verify a single one of them. Fut.Perf. ☼ 09:10, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

- I was studing some of ancient scholia at the University of Leiden at the time. The references I made are from the Scholia on Homer's Odyssey and Pindar's Odes, and the Byzantine Tzetzes commentaries on Homer. Although the information I added months ago. I would need to check the works again to find the exact references. The scholia are only available in Greek, published in mid C19th collections. I'm not aware of any online sources -- perseus.tufts.edu does not have any of scholia or Byzantine commentaries. --Valeren 11:10, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- BTW The Smith dictionary is quite good but only provides a broad outline, the scholia is particularly abbreviated, e.g. the Phocus metamorphosis myth is passed over in the entry you referred to in the article. --Valeren 11:20, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for the prompt reply! :-) The Tzetzes commentaries might be in the Thesaurus Linguae Graecae though, right? Fut.Perf. ☼ 11:35, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I think some of Tzetzes is available through the TLG. Is there general access now to the database? I thought it was only available through university subscription. All the same, I much prefer flicking through paper! :) --Valeren 13:44, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
