[edit] Question

Does anyone know if you can use Sky Digital to recieve this channel in other parts of the UK? - Aled D 18:49, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Yes, UTV is available with all the other ITV regional variations on Sky Digital. Not sure what channel. - TheKeith 18:55, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
No channel number. Must be manually tuned in. --Kiand 18:56, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] UTV in Republic section

I removed the rather opinionated view on how UTV has recently become less popular because of it not being on Sky Digital. That doesn't make a lot of sense, as before Sky went digital no UK terrestrial channels (except Channel 5) were available on satellite TV at all, so it was never a reason to use Sky. I think their loss in viewers is more to do with TV3 containing moslty the same prime time viewing, and the fact ITV in general has apparently lacked in broadcasting quality in recent years - then again that's mostly my opinion too, which is why I'm not putting on the article. --Zilog Jones 20:47, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

BBC1, 2 and Channels 4 & 5 were on digital satellite for several years before ITV (and UTV) joined them. Originally ITV were trying to promote the Digital Terrestrial platform nowadays known as Freeview but originally known as ONdigital and later ITV digital) And so decided against satellite eventually realising their mistake when satellite turned out to be more popular than DTT 80.229.222.48 14:33, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed Derry/Londonderry VHF transmitter

"but plans for a second transmitter to be constructed in the Derry area in 1961 were scrapped for fears it was too close to the border and a potential site for a Teilifis Éireann (RTE) transmitter in North Donegal"

Why would this have been a problem ? It is not unusual for different broadcasters to use nearby (or even the same) site to transmit from. It actually has several advantages one of them being that viewers can recieve all services on the same aerial ?? One could understand the reluctance to locate a transmitter there in the light of the 1950's IRA border campaign or the later troubles in Northern Ireland but not because of what RTE may or may not have been planning 80.229.222.48 14:40, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox Ordering

Is there any way to change the ordering of the items in the new infobox? It looks a bit daft with two bits of text below the image and the rest above. I changed the image by the way because the one that was featured wasn't actually an ident, it was an image of the breakbumper. StevieB 21:20, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
