Urinary obstruction may need its own page, rather than a redirect here. Else, this page needs to be made much more comprehensive. Urinary obstruction is a significant complication of large tumors in the pelvis (eg sacrococcygeal teratoma), among other conditions, congenital and otherwise. A somewhat hair-raising study has found that in men over 45, hospitalisation for acute urinary retention means they will have a 25% mortality in the first year.
