  • The trivia says that nobody knows how to pronounce Urien's name. In as much as it's fairly straight-forward japanese, I would think it would be settled by now. U-ri-e-n. (Long U, ree, long a, n)

Ok, so why is there debate on how to pronounce this name? Or, more specifically, why should there be reason to believe it's not pronounced just like the japanese would pronounce it? Izuko 22:06, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

  • A lot of people pronounce it "urine". :/ Danny Lilithborne 22:33, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
    • But does that imply that it should actually be prounounced that way? Izuko 04:12, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
      • Most people know that Ryu is supposed to be pronounced "Riyoo", but that doesn't stop them from using the wrong pronunciation. Danny Lilithborne 12:35, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
  • There's speculation that as Urien is dressed as a Greek athlete and has moves pertaining to Greek Gods (in the Japanese version, Orbital Thunder is Jupiter/Iupiter Thunder), that his name is actually JULIAN. This is based upon soundclips for Jupiter Thunder, which Urien's voice actor pronounces as "Iubitel Thunder". The J is indeed transformed into an I(or silent) in Greek, and R/L mixups are fairly common in Japanese transliterations to English. Arlieth Tralare 19:25, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

in all my street fighter iii versions for the sega dreamcast , Urien is listed as a mexican shouldn´t that be noted? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 189.163.200.87 (talk) 02:36, August 22, 2007 (UTC)
