The School of Arts and Sciences is one of the 17 schools of University of Pittsburgh located in Pittsburgh, PA. Previously known as the College of Liberal Arts, and at one time referred to as "the College", it is the oldest part of the University of Pittsburgh and is a direct descendant of the original Pittsburgh Academy chartered in 1787.[1] Its current dean is Norman John Cooper.
