I removed the History, Vision, and Quick Facts section because it was taken verbatim from the school's webpage. If someone wants to rewrite those sections so that they aren't so verbatim, feel free to do so. --Ichabod 04:21, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Union's Website's "quick facts" is old.

I removed the mention of tennis courts because they were removed three years ago to make room for a new, state-of-the-art soccer field. Rfkmichman 19:39, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 3,100

Dr. Dockery's letter in the Union magazine "Unionite" lists the undergrad enrollment as 3,154 Rfkmichman 19:37, 3 January 2007 (UTC)rfkmichman 1/3/07 (Union Student)

[edit] Soulforce visit deletion

I removed the reference to the Soulforce visit because in Union's 175 year history I do not think this is a particularly significant event (except that it may spark an interesting discussion). I imagine many colleges are visited by many different groups. If something particularly noteworthy happened during the visit then I think it should be included (as in this touched off a reform among Baptist institutions etc.). I just don't think a campus visit (though it probably does mean a lot to the members of Soulforce) is that significant unless something happened at the visit to make it so. Just my thoughts. If I'm wrong feel free to change it; I'm wrong quite often. User:Sweetmoose6

While I don't consider the visit particularily signifigant, Union's reaction to the visit and the media coverage was enough so to justify two sentences. Frankly, Union's wiki is quite biased in favor of the school, touting its achievements copied almost directly from their prospective student literature. I would settle for a new section on controversies, which I am currently compiling. User:Ærin

[edit] Lambda Chi Alpha deletions

I deleted the references to Lambda Chi Alpha that were posted for several of the alumni. I don't see us listing all of the campus groups that these people were involved with while at Union, and the references seemed more like a commercial for the fraternity than relevant info.

I deleted the picture of the Lambda Chi Alpha house. Not appropriate.

[edit] Tornado Damage

Moved the tornado damage report to history section; someone should keep track of this and update information as it becomes available. jlf (talk) 09:20, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

While dramatic when it occurred, I think the bit about the tornado needs to be trimmed a bit, especially the plugs for donations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.131.10.36 (talk) 16:17, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
