[edit] Falling asleep during surgery

Courts rarely consider "falling asleep" (especially while driving or during surgery) to be an acceptable defense; Falling asleep during surgery as a defense?? huh?? Can somebody explain that please...? --WS 21:39, 30 August 2005 (UTC) you could die when you sleep in the surgery right? just drink coffee when you're in a sleepy condition!

Actually the courts have to consider the question quite often. See automatism and automatism (case law), the latter having a detailed discussion of sleep problems. David91 09:37, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
